Ralph Continues his visit

I finally had to take Ellery to the Dr. today. She spent all night Thursday, most of Friday day and night tossing her cookies. She also refused to eat or drink. I am ok with her not eating, but she can't not drink. We hit the pediatricians office Saturday morning. They took some blood to the lab and we learned she had a bicarb of 13. A low number for kid not drinking so if Ellery didn't start drinking more we would land ourselves for another visit to get IV fluids. I really didn't want to do that to her, so I chased her with a syringe full of pedialyte or gatorade every 30 min to get fluids in her. It wasn't a pleasant experience for anyone, but kept her out of the hospital. She was very impressed by her "big" bandaid. They put a piece of gauze under the bandaid and she wouldn't let me take it off all until the end of the day. Oh, it was a stressful day!

Ralph

Oh me oh my! Ellery spent a whole night puking every hour. I was amazed at how fast you could teach a two year old to puke in a bowl/bucket. Poor thing. I was also amazed at how much could come out of her. What goes in must come out, but wow it looks like a lot when it doesn't come out correctly. She didn't get much sleep, went through tons of sheets, I finally just gave up and threw a towel over her bed along with on the floor to protect it. She didn't sleep much or very well, but I would find her in interesting positions when she finally did sleep. I have put some serious extra miles on my washing machine. Thank goodness you can't lease washers because I would have gone over my miles and then some over this ordeal.

H1N1???

I think we might have H1N1 in our house. Ellery has been sick since last Friday. Mason spiked a fever yesterday and tells me he doesn't feel well. When I ask him what specifically doesn't feel well he tells me his finger. On a side note, he cut his fingers with scissors in school last week. He cut it pretty deep and Mrs. Ziemba said he didn't cry just kept saying "oohh" and was thrilled to get a Nemo band aid for it. It has required band aids in very opportune moments, right before bed, nap time, etc... So he can't pin point what doesn't feel good he just knows something isn't right. The good news is that they want to feel good and attempt to play and they they like to snuggle more. I can actually keep up with them today instead of them running circles around me.

Ear Infections

Ellery is just getting over a double ear infection I hate to put my kids on antibiotics, but this bug just wouldn't go away. Needless to say she is getting better and happier. Not that I can really complain with her being sick. She is still a happy sick baby, not that I can use baby much longer since she will be turning one, but have to use it while I can. Anyways, my worst complaint is that she wakes up in the middle of the night and plays. She doesn't cry or need any intervention from us, but it does keep me awake because you hear her talking to herself and playing with her toys. She did take shorter naps and was a bit clingy and cranky after naps but very blessed that is what I have to complain about.
