Evel Knievel

Mason is growing up so fast. He is becoming successful at climbing up on the couch and beds. Still needs a little help, but realizing that he can lift his little foot into crevices and pull himself up. He isn't successful at getting down on his own yet. He is expressing his independence a bit more. If he is unsuccessful in getting up on the couch, he will sit down on the floor and bend himself like a taco and throw a mini fit.

He loves his bike as well. He will stand up on it, but if you ask him to sit down he will. The other day he was rocking on it so hard, he nailed the front of his head on the front of the bike. It was humorous, but it did scare Mason a bit.

He really enjoys reading books. He will sit and cuddle with you while you read to him and he will bring books to you. He used to love his shapes book, but now his favorite book is Wheels on the Bus and the Ants go Marching. I think he likes the rhythm and singing of it. He does have a touch and feel book he likes to read as well. He will touch it himself then take your hand to make sure you touch it too.

Race for the Cure

Mason attended his first Race for the Cure in Milwaukee. We all had a great time walking the 5k, in celebration of Nana Brooks. It was a beautiful day and great family fun!

I think we might go into the stroller designing business. We were thinking we should market a stroller that will allow you to jump on a ledge on the back to ride down a hill, and then make the seating area big enough for an adult. Rob could have ridden on the back down the hill, and then when we went up the hill I could cozy in with Mason. Ooo La La!

Foods

Mason always seems to bring a smile and a chuckle to me. Last week we were having a great time cooking and playing in the kitchen area. He really likes to take all of his alphabet magnet numbers from the fridge to the dishwasher and vise versa. He sometimes likes to place them all in a paper sack. Good for me because it makes noise and I can hear him, and I don't have to keep such a watchful eye, UNTIL I hear silence. Where do I find him......eating the cat food. Yuck! He is such a finicky eater. A good eater, but one day he eats it and 2 days, or a week later he won't touch it. He banned chicken for 2 weeks straight. So I am amazed that he likes the cat food. He started eating spaghetti a little over a month ago. I think he is a very bland eater. Still won't eat cheese, cottage cheese, corn, or anything from a casserole. He is starting to show some independence and eat his yogurt with a spoon all by himself. Makes a big mess, but at least he tries. When they say you have to introduce something 14 times, they aren't kidding. It just feels like 14 when you have tried only 4. I guess if he refuses people food, we are safe to say, He likes cat food!

Mason 14 months

Mason is 14 months old today. He is growing up so fast, I can't believe how fast time has gone by. He loves his fish, Lucky, that Nana got him. He greets you every morning with a smile and points to his fish bowl and says Feesh.

Mandi's Men

I have been trying to keep records of the Chaplin Clan and just haven't been successful. So I have decided to blog. Everyone can keep up with my ramblings as they wish!

I could ramble up a storm, but I will keep this entry short and sweet.

We are all doing great. Mason will be 14 months in 2 days. I can't believe how fast he is growing. He amazes me everyday. He is currently obsessed with his belly button. He loves to show you his and then tries to find yours by lifting shirts or even skirts. He also loves socks. He attempts to put them on his own feet and once he is unsuccessful at that, he tries mine. Rob is keeping busy with his job. Less than a year left and he will be done with his pediatric critical care fellowship. YEAH! I am still working part-time for Cerner. Love the part-time life!
