Our school used to do a walk a thon, but this year opted for a big pizza party! Genius! If anyone is looking for a good easy way to benefit your PTO, I think our PTO President is onto something! Instead of having the kids solicit money in their neighborhood where everyone else is doing the same thing or hitting up all of your family to support your child, our school choose to ask for a set donation from each family. Then instead of doing a walk a thon they did a big pizza party. They worked with The Pizza Guy and you pre-bought pizzas, made them at the party, cooked them, and then ate them. They also had a DJ with music along with a Schwanns man where you could purchase ice cream desserts! Brilliant. Needless to say our kids had a great time, so much fun that Mason and Sam had to take a break from the activities and rest on the hill!
Oh, I love doing crafts especially with the kids! I can incorporate googly eyes into any craft, probably because the kids love them! I am helping Ellery with her craft when Mason says mom look at me! Nothing but smiles here!
Oh, those dads! He went to an ethnic festival and came out with this tattoo. I had to double take when I first saw it, it freaked me out a bit! I left the house to run an errand and came back to this tattoo on Ellery. She is all smiles and loving it! It is kind of cool, let's just hope she never gets a real one! Temporary = cool 
This little man loves playing the ABC song along with moving to the beat! He doesn't say mama or dada, but he attempts to sing the ABC's?
Our annual neighborhood camp out was this weekend in the soccer field behind our house. Bryson and I slept inside! Our other family members slept outside for the night. I have set myself up for always sleeping inside for this big event. My motto is no sleeping in a tent when you can see your house or bedroom! lol Rob says they were roughing it, but I heard movies playing on the IPAD when I came in for the night! Everyone had a great time and lasted all night!
Our neighbors next door moved and had some bibs they gave Ellery that they had left over from a gag gift. Their trash was her treasure. She has been a mother hen taking care of her babies. They were all hungry and needing assistance at the exact same time. Thank goodness we had enough bibs to keep them all clean!
Grandma Ellen is moving to Omaha, but first she is going to live on the beach for a month! Since she will be in Charleston for her actual birthday we decided to celebrate early! No objections by anyone in this house, and excuse to eat cake is always welcome!!!!
We have been having a beautiful fall! Since I carpool I only pick up on Tuesdays! I decided to be adventurous and take the kids to feed the geese and ducks. I also invited our neighbors next door. The kids had a great time exploring nature and dodging goose poop! I should have made them play duck duck goose while dodging the goose poop!!!
Not sure what is going on with this ducks head, but the kids were fascinated with its growth!
All in due time! This little man is on the move. Haven't gotten a really good video of him, but he is standing and walking like a big boy. It is fitting for the season because he walks like Frankenstein!
A pro to having family that own a coffee shop is that we can get a real sacks for races. The kids fit in these sacks and love crawling into them to hide. I then pick up my sack of beans only to find out a child is inside! They also love trying to have sack races in the basement. They are beginning to figure out if they position their feet correctly in the sack they can take baby steps rather than jumping across the room! 
Omaha has a magnificent children's theater. You can't beat the family membership and the kids really enjoy it! I was asked to join The Rose Guild last year and this year was asked to join the Board. I love the theater, but it isn't my deep love, but I decided to give it a shot anyways. I am having a great time and meeting wonderful people. I am getting to learn more and more what it costs in time and resources to put these shows on for the kids. I know my kids love it so I am working for a great cause. After the shows they have cast members sign autographs. We got Ferdinand the Bull's autograph. Ferdinand had to pop in the picture at the last minute because the two of them were curious at a distance, but didn't like him up close! 
Oh, never a dull moment in our house! We are currently in a show me your muscles phase. We show them off in appropriate times and sometimes inappropriate times!
A sure way to get your kids to play with toys is to box them up and bring them out. It fools them and they think they are new toys OR bring out the old toddler toys. I am not sure who loves playing with all the new/old toddler toys more? I think it might be Bryson if he could ever get a turn?
We skipped the air show here in Omaha this year, nothing grand on their schedule. I thought I was in the clear for a whole year on having the option to attend another one, but I was wrong! Rob found out the Blue Angels were going to be in Lincoln. I lucked out and Grandma Ellen was visiting, so Grandma Ellen, Mason, Ellery, and Rob headed out to Lincoln to watch the show, while Bryson and I held down the fort! Everyone wins!!!!!
After three years I have finally started to meet neighbors and make friends. A neighbor friend of mine asked me to go with her to a Junior League event. We had a ladies night out and I really enjoyed myself. I wasn't super excited to meet the author, maybe because I never got around to reading her book or books, but this author was fantastic. In my brief time spent with Emily Giffin I think I could really be her friend in another life. She is hysterical, down to earth, and a tell it like it is kind of gal! She literally shot the "poop" with us for 10-15 min before she started the book signing. She then gave a talk before we watched the showing of one of her books turned into a movie called Something Borrowed. She inspired me to read her books. Ellery was more excited than you can imagine to go to school. She wouldn't show me the love this morning in our photo? I think she was missing Mason, but she slowly warmed up to the idea! She is going to the Millard Public Foundation and has the same teacher Mason had in pre-school. I will be excited to hear what Mrs. Ziemba has to share about Ellery at conferences.
We had to take a baby doll to our first day of school, but she was left in the car over the excitement on going.
Ellery had no problem saying good bye to me this am. She did want a hug and a kiss before I left and then she walked into the classroom like she lived there! It is what all parents want, but it does make me a little sad she isn't sad to leave me. I get all teared up over the growing up process, but it doesn't seem to phase my kids at all! Yeah and Neah wrapped all into one!
Hudson was thrilled with his birthday celebration this year!!! We let the kids wish it to him this year!
Oh, I do have a sick obsession with the dollar store, thank goodness it comes in waves. I like to make an appearance when they start putting Halloween items out. This is when I found this fancy hair headband! I hate to admit it, but I bought it in pink and green as well! I did resist the blond one. So I am not sure if Ellery's hair obsession extensions are coming from her or me? I have resisted getting her a feather. When you see "older" ladies walking around with feathers the trend tend to makes me cringe! Cute, just not for me!
Oh, the reason we headed downtown over Labor Day weekend was because the Jelly Belly Tour bus was in town. Rob loves jelly bellies, so it was a no brainer that we needed to have this experience. I am not so sure if it is an experience I would ever do again. They have a new line called "Bean Boozled". You get to spin a fun wheel and you have to try what you land on. You could get either skunk spray or licorice, pencil shavings or top banana, rotten egg or buttered popcorn, toothpaste or berry blue, canned dog food or chocolate pudding, barf or peach, booger or juicy pear, moldy cheese or caramel corn, baby wipes or coconut, centipede or strawberry jam.
