Bryson 21 Months......

Since I am catching up the blog and didn't put my notes in like I usually do I have nothing special to say about Bryson except he continues to be a sweet little man. Doesn't have much to say yet, but you can tell he is taking it all in. He still loves to tap your leg to get your attention and it seems to work for him at this point so no worries on our end on our silent little man.

Bryson-20 Months

This little man is growing up. Our new favorite things to do is closing doors and light switches.  He is getting tall enough to stand on tippy toes to switch things on and off, or he will stand on whatever structure is available.

Bryson 19 Months

Not much has changed in the past month with Bryson other than the frequency he pats my leg to show me something or to lead me to what he wants. Not much of a talker, but I am sure that will change. He loves the cat and is usually nice to her, he does attempt to pick her up. Sometimes he is successful at carrying her around and other times not so much. I should get a picture, but poor DC is so old I feel sorry for her so I rescue her. He is easy with the cat, but mean to the dog. Which isn't good because Hudson is getting old and not doing so good in health. Thankgoodness his a gentle dog to the kids because Bryson isn't so gentle with him. All my other kids never took to using utensils. I am not sure they have taken to using utensils rather than fingers, but Bryson prefers utensils. Sure he isn't very good at using them, but he loves to try and we let him. He also LOVES bubbles. This man loves to play with bubbles, chase bubbles, blow bubbles, and pop bubbles. Anything with bubbles and he is captivated. I am sure I am forgetting to write something about him, but still a great kid. We get compliments all the time from MDO, church nursery, baby sitters, and the list could go on commenting on how sweet he is. All these places he is on his own without his sister. He worships what she does, but Ellery doesn't view it that way so they battle for everything. She is getting smart and learning that Bryson wants what she wants so she will give it to him and then go get something else so he will want that and then she gives him that and gets what she originally had from the start! I should start giving away tickets to the Chaplin household shows, they are a hoot!

Bryson 18 Months

Oh this little man is my true snuggler. He would snuggle with me all day long and somedays I find myself not getting anything done, but holding this sweet boy in my arms. He is my constant companion and the greatest acessory. He will just snuggle up into my shoulder, it is a feeling I hope to never forget! He is becoming a bit possessive. It is a competition on who gets to sit in my lap between him and Ellery. He cries and throws a fit when she wins. Which brings us to his unpleasant side. He isn't the best communicator so he either taps for what he wants or cries. He is starting to say mama and dada more, but he now has an annoying habit I have somehow rewarded because he will come up and tap me on the leg rather than talk to me to get my attention. He will keep tapping until I acknowledge him or give him my hand so he can point or take me to what he wants. I guess having a house full of people who are talkers isn't helping his situation. He does say a few words like cat, ball, mama, dada, sister and has I want that down pat (love the play on words wit the pat), but he prefers his morris code method of tapping me on the leg.
He loves trying to keep up with the other kids and is starting to run after them to keep up. Sometimes he is graceful, but he finds himself on the floor a lot picking himself up and also running into things. He will keep walking and walk right into items because he is flashing his sweet smile or giggle. He just finds whatever he comes in contact with isn't as sweet. He is also into climbing up onto chairs, tables, and sofas. It isn't uncommon to find him sitting on a chair playing with legos at the lego table, or sitting in the chair in the kitchen going through the drawer looking for a piece of paper and a writing utensil to write on. It also isn't that uncommon to find him ontop of the table if what he prefers is just a bit out of reach. I will just call this resourceful, but it does make my heart skip a few beats.
He remains a great eater and sleeper, a resilient 3rd born.

Bryson 17 Month

Oh where do I start with this little man. He is starting to say dada and mama more regularly. Bonus. But, he has sister down so it doesn't seem as special. He is starting to run and actually keep up with himself. He doesn't play with baby toys at all. I could get rid of all of them, but it makes me sad. I will bring me joy to give them to others, but I am not ready for that yet. I am starting a pile of everything we don't need or use anymore and it is growing into a big pile. He is terrible at crying for what he wants. Something we need to work on with him. He is still not the best at sharing, but he is starting to play with Ellery better. His independence is a lot stronger than the other two. I think it comes with being the last one and trying to survive and prove that he is a big boy. Not to mention watching what others get to do and wanting to to it regardless if it is an impossible task. He will cry and throw a fit unless you let him try. Doesn't matter if he fails, no more tears, just likes to try! Other times we just get the tears because we don't let him try. He is very interested in the bathroom. So interested that I pulled out the potty chair. We aren't working with him, but I think he just likes to have a place to sit while I go to the bathroom. He is going to need a lot of lessons on privacy. I don't think I will know what to do with myself when I can go to the bathroom alone! He is my constant companion. So much that I call him my accessory! Where mommy goes, goes Bryson and he is quite the little helper, most days!

Bryson 16 Month

His new obsession are tiny game pieces. He loves the travel connect 4 game. The pieces are the size of a dime. He still doesn't put them into his mouth, just loves to put the pieces into the game and when he is done mastering that skill, he carries them around. He has a love hate relationship with Ellery at this point. She is very motherly to him along with very bossy. She is quick to inform me what he is and isn't into at the time. Neither one of them know how to share with the other. Ellery is great at sharing with Mason, but she is not as nice to Bryson. I think they both compete for my attention in the same way because they are both my cuddle buddies. If Bryson isn't in my arms or lap then Ellery is quick to climb in and vice versa.

Bryson 15 Months

We have a hand full in this one. Mainly because our hands are full with the other two and this one adds to the mix. He is up and moving and into everything! He loves anything and everything that is small enough to be held in his hand. His favorites are barbie shoes and legos. He never eats them, just loves to carry them around. He also loves anything and everything the other two are doing. He has no idea the meaning of age appropriate. He still is our happy go lucky man as long as he is involved. He is also our best belly laughter. We can get him to laugh anytime or anywhere. It is so sweet it fills the room and makes everyone else giggle and happy. He has a fascination with any ball as well. Depends upon the day if he is a good eater, and he loves to throw food. Errrrr. Doesn't say mama or dada, but says. I want that or who's this or whats this. He also says cat and dog, but he adores the cat. He continues to be a good sleeper during the night and is close to losing his two naps a day.

We aren't walking steadily, but really really close!

Bryson 13 Months

Where to start. Bryson isn't walking without assistance, he will take a few steps, but nothing spectacular. He is a cruiser on the furniture and into whatever the other two are doing. He has a fond relationship with the stairs and loves crawling up and down them. He is learning to put his feet out first to dismount anything that he has climbed. He does enjoy climbing things more than my others did. He remains a picky eater. Not a huge fan of fruits and veggies, he likes to throw his food! Errrrr On the flip side he will eat casserole like items and meat? Things you think he is never going to eat this he loves for example: salmon cakes, egg rolls, corn casserole, taco meat. He also will eat an avocado mushed up, but won't touch the chunks? He also LOVES his bottles, we thought we were saying good bye and we have given up all of them except with meals, but this kid loves them? We will see how he is in another month, I won't panic yet. He remains a great sleeper at night, but afternoon naps are hit or miss. Poor thing is taken every where and plucked up from naps frequently because of our busy schedules. His favorite toy remains a ball. He also likes to find any tiny item and carry it around in his hand and then crawls around like a gorilla holding it. His favorite items to pocket in his hands are barbie shoes and legos. He doesn't eat them, just carries them around. He loves books like his sister and loves his family. Like Rob always says, he just wants to be a part of everything. As long as someone is close around he will play and be content, but alone he doesn't know what to do!

Bryson 11 Months

Little Man is 11 months old. He is into anything and everything. He shows a strong liking to balls and his blue stacking cup. You can have all the cups stacked together and he will go through them to find the blue one. He even carries it around the house with him in a ape type crawl as he holds it. He also loves anything that is Mason's or Ellery's, but they don't like that he prefers their toys. He is a great sleeper and eater. Well, he still prefers to be spoon fed, but is gradually starting to prefer finger foods. We have stopped breast feeding all together and he is our first bottle fed baby! He still isn't saying mama, but is a babbling baby. He is truly a go with the flow baby!

Bryson 10 Months

I think I say this every month, but boy how time flies! The little man in 10 months old. He is a happy smiley baby. If I could get paid money for every time someone tells me how smiley and happy he is I could have a nice day at the spa for free. He is officially on the move with "real" crawling. He still will army scoot or inch worm crawl if he gets really excited over something, but for the most part he is crawling the traditional way. He is also pulling up on everything and starting to cruise the hearth and couches. We did find him with one knee on the stairs the other day. The baby gates are coming out. He still eats everything we put in front of him. He loves feeding himself, but only if it is a dry food. He will gag himself if give him chunks of carrots, mango, cantaloupe, avocado, etc, but if you mush it up and feed it to him he eats it all up. He is taking two naps a day, although trying to fit his schedule around the other two is sometimes trying and it isn't uncommon to have to wake him up from a nap because we have to be some place. He goes to bed at 7-8pm and sleeps until 7am usually without a peep from him all night. He is the first kid that we have given bottles to. I used up all of my frozen supply of breast milk and now switched him over to soy formula. I only breast feed him first thing in the morning. He isn't saying mama yet, but he sounds like he is clearing his throat every time he sees the cat. He talks more to the cat than to anyone else, he also likes to chase her. We are loving him and he is loving life with us!

Bryson 9 Months

I can't fix this picture for some crazy reason. It is getting harder and harder to take them since Bryson has a obsession with eating anything and everything with a flare for paper. To date I have fished out silly bands, carpet pieces, paper, and barbie shoes. We know for sure silly bands swallowed pass without any problems. We are all doing a better job at keeping appropriate things in reach and inappropriate things out. He remains happy and eating everything you put in front of him. He is taking bottles when I am not around and still breastfeeding all the other times. I have only bit once and I screamed and scared him, I haven't been bit since. He has 8 teeth with more coming. He loves to watch Mason and Ellery play and attempts to follow them around. A good eater, great sleeper, and a happy baby what more could we want!

Bryson 8 Months

Happy would be the word to sum up Bryson. He is starting to move a bit more and thinking about pulling up. He usually is very content to sit where you put him as long as someone is within eye shot and he has something to put in his mouth. He coos and talks, Rob is convinced he is saying dada. He is correct he has his dadadas down, but I don't think they are to him. His first word is going to be mama. He is still breastfeeding and starting to ween down quite a bit. He is working on drinking out of a cup. He still needs to work on it. I tried a straw and he sucked up a huge gulp the first few times and now he is leery. He loves stacking cups and chewing on anything he can get his hands on. He also will eat anything you put in front of him regardless if he likes it or not. He isn't a big fan of bananas, but he still attempts to shovel the tiny pieces in making a funny face every time he takes a bite. He has determination. We can get him giggling a lot easier than we could the others. He thinks a lot of things are funny, and I am happy to finally have an audience that thinks I am funny! He is a great sleeper, and taking two great naps a day. The morning nap is tricky with Mason going to school 5 mornings a week, but we try. Funny how the third has to roll with everyone else's schedules and is turning out just fine. I was such a schedule freak with Mason. We have four teeth, the front tops and bottoms and working on some more. I could ramble on and on about my children, but I will stop with these highlights!

Bryson 7 Months

Our lives are about to change more as this man is almost on the move. He is starting to roll around a bit more on the floor, but he is great at army crawling around the room to get to chew on whatever he sees. He is pulling up on all fours, but not picking up arms or rocking too much. It just makes him move backwards at this point. He would much rather sit up and watch the world around him and he can sit up on his own now and pitch himself in the direction of the toy he desires. He loves eating and will eat anything you put in front of him. He would probably fill up on just Cheerios if I let him. He is sipping from a cup, but has a lot of room for improvement. He is still nursing and sleeping great through the night. He remains a happy baby as long as he isn't the only one in the room.

Bryson 6 Months

Oh where did the month go. Bryson has changed and grown up in the past month. He is interacting more and more and putting everything in his mouth. He is grabbing and reaching for things and when he successfully gets something within reach he puts his hands together to increase the chance of getting it to his mouth. I think baby proofing is going to be harder with this one due to the fact that the others have things strung out all over. They aren't going to be big fans of Bryson's when he starts moving and getting into their stuff. As he drools on everything their only response is yuck and get that back from Bryson I don't want his drool on it. He is sitting up by himself for multiple seconds. I am impressed he can recover from the hugs the other give him while he is sitting up. Since he can sit up he enjoys time by himself more. I guess he doesn't consider it by himself because he is playing with his toys. He was a happy baby before, but he is starting to fall into a nap routine and allowing you to put him down and leave the room without screaming his head off every time. He is loving his solids. Even giving me some high pitch squeals and starting to babble at us more. Getting ready to give him some real food with flavor as soon as I find the time to make it.

Bryson 5 Months

This little peanut is already 5 months old. Not much has changed since last month except he has rolled over witnessed. He is still happy to be on his back and doesn't flip himself over too fast when on his back. He is starting to blow bubbles and coo at us a lot more. He loves watching the kids play and instantly starts crying when he is left alone in a room and the chaos disappears. We have outgrown size 1 diapers and are wearing 6-9 month outfits for length only. He doesn't fill out the outfits. Most of the pants fit in length, but not in the waist. He also can grasp toys a lot better and loves chewing on things. No teeth coming through yet. He also has been enjoying more time in the exersaucer. Happy baby sums him up!

Bryson 4 Months

The little man is 4 months. Oh my. He is getting a great personality and really interactive. A quote from Rob the other day on his great personality and I remind you I quote. "I think that's the reason I like him the best at this age." Could we be playing favorites or savoring the youngest?????
He really does watch every move we all make and is fine sitting in his bumbo or playing on the floor if he can see or hear us. He has a sensor and a really sensitive one if he is left alone or all is quiet. He doesn't like to be left alone, but happy as can be watching everything around him. He also really likes looking at himself in a mirror, something my others did, but didn't enjoy it like Bryson does. He is so happy looking around he isn't rolling over much. He has rolled over twice in the past month, but not witnessed. We feel really bad about it, we put him on the play mat and walk away to do something and when we turn back around he has been on his belly. It is so bad that one time he rolled over Rob and I both asked if we put him on his tummy or did he roll over. He of course rolled over, a milestone in his life that no one witnessed. . He eats 6 times a day and goes to sleep around 10 and wakes around 6-7. He sometimes makes an appearance at night, but it isn't that common. Working on day time nap schedules, but he tends to cat nap in his car seat when we run errands or taking and picking Mason up from pre school. He is a snuggler and I still let my to do list pile up so I can sit and enjoy cuddling with him.

Bryson 3 Months

I can't believe the little man is already 3 months. He is changing and growing every day. He is really starting to coo and talk, and we have only gotten a few giggles out of him. He has also rolled himself over once, I am pretty sure it was by accident. He does enjoy his tummy time, but not for more than 10 min. He loves sitting in the bumbo and looking around. We usually pluck him in the center of what we are doing and he is thrilled by all the stimulation and action. He is also loving laying on his play mate and looking at all it has to offer. He loves to smile, actually he is either smiling or has a serious look on his face. I think he is going to be a deep thinker by the way he looks around and takes it all in with a look of a hint of scowling. It isn't uncommon for him to lay and play for 20-30 min. He isn't much of a napper during the day, but he is eating 6 times a day like clock work. His last feed is usually around 9:30 and he sleeps until 6,7, or 8. I am loving that! I just need to get to bed as soon as he is done eating rather than get things done around the house! He is a joy and a true gift to all of us, he really does complete the family. Sweet sweet little man!

Bryson 2 Months

It is happening again. Bryson is growing fast and looking big for his age. I am not sure where I like being on the spectrum of kid size. Mason was big for his age, Ellery was small, and it appears Bryson is going to be big. Some one suggested we go for #4 to get the average kid, but I will kindly decline that suggestion. I think I am pumping cream for Bryson.
He is a very happy baby and smiles a lot. He also has a serious look to him and will furrow his brow as well. Usually he is mainly smiles, but when he is serious it makes you wonder what he could possibly be thinking to be that serious. No belly laughs or rolling over. He does enjoy his tummy time and loves watching the kids. I am not so sure it is watching the kids as just looking at who can shove their face closest to his first. He seems to enjoy it so we will roll with it until cold season hits. He is also starting to sleep 6-7 hours straight for me at night on a more regular basis. He tends to go down around 10 or 11 and get up around 5-6. We still swaddle him, but most nights her works and works to get his arms free and then falls asleep. It might be time to break out the sleep sacks and give up on swaddling him. He also really enjoys looking at his mobile in bed. Head control is pretty good, almost ready for the bumbo chair. I am also sad that he is growing out of his 0-3 month clothes. I think it is because he is my last little one, it brings a little tear to my eye. I had to take him to 3-6 month sleepers, because I felt like I was stunting his growth with how tight they were getting. He still enjoys being held, but he is getting a grip on reality that he can't be held all the time. Although I do find myself sitting down with him like he is a good cup of coffee or a good book and just really enjoying the cuddle time.

Bryson 1 Month Old

Bryson is officially 1 month old, where does the time go? I know I am not sleeping it away. He is a sweet baby who likes to be held most of the time. I guess I can't blame him, he was all snug and warm while I was carrying him inside of me and he is just having an adjustment phase. I think he might be refluxing as well. We took him in for a weight check so we could give him some Zantac and he weighs 9lbs 15oz. He is growing!
